I should say that I have not used Windows for presentation for some four or five years, so may be inaccurate in some details, but I hope not. mpg, which formats are good default formats to use. mp4 outside of Impress, as a test to ensure that codecs and file associations are installed for that format. mp4 is in any event a difficult format to play. LibreOffice may offer better media integration, although there are reports of difficulties with Impress in the latest release (LibO 3.5.1), where one may need to disable Hardware Acceleration under /Tools/Options/:View. This is the situation in Windows it is not as straightforward in other operating systems, and media integration is under review in all operating systems for Apache OpenOffice 3.4, although I would not expect substantial progress until the following release (AOO v4.0?). Typically the situation is that if the media can be played outside of Impress, then Impress can handle it. ![]() Normally, under Windows, the media playing is provided by OS installed codecs. As far as I know, there isn't a list of supported media file types, as these vary between operating system implementations and even between Impress installations. ![]()
